The beginning of the tour. We will walk through the streets of Medieval Siena and discover the early history of the city and of the Contrade (Districts), looking for the signs of every District and searching for its fountain. We will see, there the horse is kept before the race, the church and the museum of Contrada.
The most known place in Siena, where Palio (The Horse Race) takes place. Here you will be able to imagine how this celebration proceed. On our way to Cathedral we will again see some new Districts with its holy animals and signs.
We will visit Cathedral inside, so you can enjoy its beauty and richness of decorations and styles. If you are lucky to come at the end of August / beginning of September you will see the fantastic stone mosaics on the floor, which are completely opened in this period.
Walking through other narrow streets and angles of the city, we will enjoy its medieval atmosphere. At San Domenico Church we will see some relicts of Santa Caterina, the local saint, who was very famous not only in Siena, but all over Europe.
