Discover the amazing atmosphere in the legendary red light district Pigalle and the artists' quarter on the hill of Montmartre, where Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso and many others lived and worked. We will visit the Basilica Sacré-Cœur, Paris' biggest church, having a guided tour inside the building, and you will enjoy a breathtaking view all over Paris - including the Eiffel Tower - during the sunset. Furthermore, you will see the painters on the famous square Place du Tertre.
Place Blanche, metro station (line n. 2)
The guide will wait for you at the exit of the metro station with a yellow sign in his hands.
We will start with the worldwide most famous cabaret, the Moulin Rouge. There you will hear about the painter Toulouse-Lautrec who spent his short life drawing in the cabaret while drinking heavy cocktails.
From there we will reach the highest spot in Paris, the hill of Montmartre. On our way we will see famous cafés where were shot movies like "Amelie" (2002) with Audrey Tautou, we will see the last still existing windmills, the first flat where Picasso lived, a vineyard created by artists in 19th century and still producing wine, as well as small hidden streets with their cobblestones telling many surprising anecdotes.
Finally we will reach the Basilica of Sacra-Coeur and visit inside this huge building with its surprising byzantine architecture. In time for the sunset we will overlook the breathtaking view all over Paris, including the Eiffel Tower.
The tour ends in the heart of the old outskirts village Montmartre, where once upon a time only farmers and some moneyless impressionist painters lived. You will discover the old medieval church of the village, one of the two oldest in Paris, as well as the former town hall and the famous square Place du Tretre with its painters who sill sell portraits and caricatures. There you can enjoy a drink or a meal in one of the many typical French restaurants on the highest spot in Paris.

On the days of week I am available or busy according to the seasons. During the academic year (October to May) I am teaching in university. However, in my company MSP SAS we have a dozen guides who all fulfil the guidelines of quality and expertise I put on myself and my wife Kristina with whom I manage the company. Our guides a available each day of the week.
This is a walking tour, we will make stops, relax in cosy gardens and, if desired, have a cup of coffee; but for maximum comfort we recommend that you wear comfortable shoes.
Please bring a bottle of water.
As always in Paris: don't forget your umbrella.
The tour takes place starting with two participants.
We had a great time with Christian who managed to show us the Louvre and its highlights in a very limited time. He gave us a perfect overview of the museum and showed us all the highlights. He had very interesting stories to tell and we enjoyed the time with him. He was very flexible and responded to our requests. Thank you Christian for some wonderfull insights!
Thank you for your great review. It was a pleasure for me to show you the Louvre and some of its treasures. Hope to see you back in Paris soon! Christian
